When you step back through the spa doors, you might spot some of the many improvements we’ve made.
We didn’t rest on our laurels during lockdown, instead we used the time to make huge investments in our stunning facilities. These upgrades demonstrate our unwavering commitment to quality at Nirvana Spa, even during difficult times for the business. We want the spa to be the ultimate uplifting and relaxing sanctuary – a place for you to escape from the stresses of everyday life.
Doing the works while we were closed meant that we could complete them more quickly and without any inconvenience to you – in fact, that’s the only silver lining to lockdown we can think of!
Here’s a taste of some of the improvements we’ve made:
Facilities
Last Spring, we completely refurbished the sauna and steam rooms in the Thermal Suite with new wood panels, tiles and flooring. Since then, we’ve also redecorated The Roman Pool room and transformed the Nirvana pool, giving the latter a gorgeous, bright makeover in light blue and cream – the colours complement each other beautifully.
A big challenge for us was to redecorate the Spa restaurant, including the ceiling and columns – no mean feat as the room is 7m high! While doing this, we took the chance to put new windows in the sky lantern above the restaurant. Normally we would have to do this at night, one window at a time, to avoid any disruption.
We’ve also completed the refurbishments of all the changing rooms to give a smarter, more contemporary finish. We added much needed extra toilets in the ladies, and installed Covid safe touch-free taps and auto flush throughout.
The Spa Garden
To ensure that you can enjoy our gorgeous Spa garden throughout Spring and Summer, we’ve installed new heaters in the outdoor pergola for a warm, al fresco dining experience. To feel extra snug and cosy in the fresh air, you’re welcome to bring a blanket from home.
We have 200 new loungers to accommodate more people relaxing outside, and a fabulous new pizza oven to give you some exciting and delicious new choices on the menu.
Pools
As a true spa with our own borehole, the smooth supply of pure water throughout our facilities is vital. We have two borehole pumps, one at 80m deep and the other at 100m deep. During lockdown, we replaced the lining of our enormous water tank which holds 100 cubic meters (100,000 litres). To do this we drained the tank and fitted new fibre glass, something that would be almost impossible to do when the spa is open.
The water from the borehole tank is distributed throughout the whole of Nirvana Spa and Nirvana Fitness, supplying all the pools, as well as the showers and toilets.
We’ve also updated the UV filtration system for the Celestial Floatation pool and replaced any damaged tiles in every Nirvana pool.
Main Public Areas & Covid Safety
We’ve installed a new smart main desk and concierge desk in our members’ reception, as well as a new entrance canopy to protect from the elements. You’ll find more parking spaces in the car park and no-touch exit doors at Nirvana Spa and Nirvana Fitness.
Your safety while at Nirvana Spa is paramount to us, so as well as visible Covid precautions such as touch-free taps and flush, we’ve also disinfected the air handling system coils for extra peace of mind, serviced our boilers and done additional electrical safety testing
