We are thrilled to share news that our Company Medical Advisor, Dr George Kassianos was awarded, by Her Majesty the Queen, a CBE (Commander of British Empire) in an investiture with HRH The Princess Royal at Windsor Castle on Wednesday 17th November. A GP with 4 years of experience in hospitals and 38 years of experience in general practice, Dr George Kassianos is the National Immunisation Lead for the Royal College of General Practitioners, a role he has held for 25 years, President of the British Global and Travel Health Association, Board Director of the European Working Group on Influenza, and he also chairs a pan-European group of experts in influenza from 20 countries. Dr George Kassianos was cited in the honours for his services to travel medicine and general practice.
Dr Kassianos said:
“I came to the UK from Cyprus in 1974 on my way to the USA, started working in the NHS and fell in love with it, so I stayed.
The ability we now have to vaccinate people against serious diseases is one of the great achievements of medical science and GP practices and Pharmacists play a vital role in ensuring high numbers of patients are immunised – something, for which, they should all be proud.”
Dr George has provided Nirvana Spa with advice and guidance since 2012, most recently he has worked closely with the team developing the offering in the Dead Sea Salt Pool. Throughout the ongoing Covid pandemic, Dr George has provided vital advice, guidance, and reassurance to the management team. With his support, we have been proactive in our approach and committed to ensuing we provide a safe environment for your relaxation.

From the 1st December you will be required to show a COVID pass to access the facilities. You will be able to obtain your COVID pass via the NHS App or the NHS COVID Pass Service and we accept both digital and paper versions. For more information on COVID passes please follow this link.
