Every Barnardo’s project is different, but each believes in the potential in every child, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.
First Days
First Days works to help support the children of families living in poverty across Berkshire. To help provide families with the everyday essentials their children need we take donated toys, clothes, equipment, and school uniform and redistribute them to those in need. The charity was set up in 2013 and now helps an average of 200 children every month.
Kaleidoscopic UK
Kaleidoscopic support children and adults who have been exposed to domestic abuse through survivor led, threshold free support services. They provide prevention programmes for services/individuals and enable people to reach out for help without fear or embarrassment as early as possible with support available for the family throughout. Children are often the forgotten survivors and currently little to no support exists for these children, but Kaleidoscopic gives the correct intervention and help needed for them to survive. Kaleidoscopic UK currently holds two support groups in Wokingham, and they will be facilitating the Freedom Programme for adults and children from February 2020.
